TEXSTRA consortium meets for its third project meeting in Kaunas

The third meeting of TEXSTRA– Textile Strategy for Innovative Higher Education project was held on Wednesday, October 17th, in Kaunas (Lithuania). It was organized by the Kaunas University of Technology (KTU).

The main goal of the meeting was to review the progress made since the project start on September 2017 and to plan for the next steps.

The meeting started with the update on the administrative aspects of the project by INCDTP, the project coordinator, and the dissemination activities review by AEI TÈXTILS. Then, the different outputs were reviewed in detail to plan the workload among all partners. KTU presented the status of the e-book which will be edited, focused on the technical needs for undergraduate students identified through a needs’ analysis conducted previously, namely: advanced textile materials, advanced manufacturing methods, circular economy and sustainability and e-commerce. University of West Attica presented the beta version of the online platform that will be used for the development of virtual internships; this will be launched in the coming months. Lastly, Material Connexion Italia presented the main features of the book of lectures the team will develop in the coming months and that will be used during the summer training courses which will be held in Guimarães, Portugal, scheduled to mid-July 2019.

The objective of these actions is to promote and transfer research and innovation using e-learning tools for students and professionals by project-based learning, contributing to an efficiency and competitiveness boost among small and medium textile companies in Europe.
